Shaman's Dream

The driving force inside Craig Kohland is the healing rhythm of the drum and the creative expression of the sacred. He is a talented multi-percussionist, performer, DJ, music and film producer, retreat facilitator and healing arts practitioner.

Shaman's Dream Music Collective is Craig’s multi-faceted musical project that, along with producers Rara Avis and Amani Friend (Desert Dwellers), has produced 25 albums in the last 15 years. Music spanning in genre’s from Ambient, Downtempo, Yoga music, World groove, African, Afro Beat, Middle Eastern, East Indian, Tribal, Funk, House, Glitch, Electronica and Hip Hop.

He's performed with such artists as - Krishna Das, Dave Stringer, Donna Delory, Suzanne Tang, Suzanne Sterling, Medicine Drum, Bluetech, Chris Berry, Jason Hann, Rara Avis and Desert Dwellers.

Since 1995 Shaman’s Dream has been at the forefront of the Yoga music/ ecstatic dance scene. Craig is the musical director of the “Shaman’s Dream World Groove Ensemble” and along with yoga teacher Micheline Berry has co-facilitated over 400 ecstatic dance/ “live” world music concerts plus countless live music yoga classes and ritual retreats. For the year 2009, Craig co-produced Ecstatic Dance Big Island at Kalani retreat center in Pahoa, HI.

Craig’s has produced, assistant directed and created original music scores for over 20 health related instructional DVD’s - ie; yoga, tai chi, chi gong, workout, etc. for such instructors as: Shiva Rea, Sharon Gannon/David Life and Michael Franti, Hemalayaa, Duncan Wong, Desiree Rumbaugh and many more. He has also production supervised over a 100 commercials and music videos.

Launching Fall 2010, the Shaman's Dream team will launch Yogitunes.com, the ultimate digital music download site for the yoga world.
