FAQ

Greetings!   There’s a lot that’s new about Wanderlust in 2010.  This FAQ is an attempt to collect and answer the major questions people have had in one place.  If you have additional questions, though, please feel free to email us using our contact form.

TICKETING

I’m not into yoga.  Is this festival for me?

Definitely!  Wanderlust was built from the ground up as a festival for both yoga and music lovers, so some people are there for the yoga, some for the music, and some for both.   We think the music lineup stands on it own – quite simply we’ve got the best indie bands around.  You can just get a music ticket and you’re all set.  Sleep late, grab a coffee, roam the Village, and watch the great music on the Casbah stage.  You’ll still have time to grab dinner and a few drinks before the many night shows start.

I can’t figure out which ticket to buy, Seeker or Sage. Can you help?

We’ve made things a lot simpler this year.  The only difference between the Seeker and Sage tickets are the number of days you’ll spend at the festival.  Sages can attend classes from Thursday through Sunday, while Seekers can attend Friday through Sunday.

Are some classes more advanced than others?

Yes.  Our scheduling system will have information regarding class levels.  Classes are organized as basics classes (beginners), open classes (all levels), and int/adv classes.

Lodging

What kind of lodging is available at Wanderlust?

Squaw Valley USA has a wide range of hotels, motels and private homes for rent for people in all price ranges.  Most of these properties are a five-minute walk from the Kula Village.  The easiest way to get more information is to visit the Lodging page under Plan Your Trip or by contacting Squaw Valley Central Reservations at 877-713-0310 or at www.squaw.com.

I’m on a budget.  Is there camping?

The hotels at Squaw Valley USA are reasonably priced, particularly if you share rooms (as many of you will be used to doing during ski season).  They also feature kitchens, so you can cook your own food.  However, if you do want to camp, there’s camping close by:

I want to bring my RV.  Is this possible?

Due to limitations in parking capacity, we are offering only 30 RV permits total.  These permits cost $149 for the four day weekend and can be purchased through the Wanderlust ticketing website at http://wanderlustfestival.frontgatetickets.com/.   Unfortunately we cannot offer hookups or waste dumping areas of any kind on site.  Quiet hours are from 2 am to 8 am nightly; please be respectful of the community and environment.

Yoga/Meditation Class Scheduling

My friend and I purchased our Wanderlust tickets last night, but she purchased mine for me on her own account.  Now, we want to go sign up for classes.  How can we log in as two separate people to reserve the classes?

Our new scheduling system will take care of this when it launches on March 29.  Your friend will login to link her tickets, and she’ll add the name and email address of the other people she bought tickets for.   Then all you need to do is login with your email address and the order number from the tickets (your friend will have this) and a ticket will automatically be assigned to your account.

Where do I go to schedule my classes?

Go to www.wanderlustfestival.com and click on the “SCHEDULE YOUR CLASSES” button on the middle right.  You’ll need to login to your account before you can schedule your classes.  Remember that you can only schedule starting on March 29, 2010.

How many classes can I schedule?

You can schedule three classes per day.

Your system won’t let me sign up for a class I really want to sign up for on Sunday.  Why?

Check your schedule by logging in and clicking on the “SCHEDULE YOUR CLASSES” button.  You almost certainly have signed up for your full allotment of classes, so you’ll need to unenroll from an existing class in order to sign up for another one.

Help!  The class I really want is full.

We have lots of capacity and teachers at Wanderlust, but we can’t promise that some classes won’t fill up – after all, there’s only one Seane Corn or Shiva Rea.  That’s why you should buy your tickets early and enroll as soon as the scheduling application goes live! However, we’re monitoring the size of class waiting lists very carefully and will move classes in high demand to bigger rooms, which will open up more space.  The people on the waiting list will be added in order of their position on the waiting list.

Bookings

I have a band and really would like to play Wanderlust. What SHOULD I do?

As a festival that combines both yoga and music, Wanderlust by definition has fewer slots for music than a music-only festival.  We always make sure to book a number of interesting developing artists alongside our more well-known headliners, but the number of such opportunities is very limited.  We have hundreds of submissions for the performance slots we do have, and for that reason, at this time we cannot accept solicitations except when made through a legitimate music manager or agent.  If we expand the festival to multiple locations in 2011 and beyond, hopefully this will create more opportunities for the many great artists that have been submitted to us thus far.

I'm a yoga teacher and I would like to teach at Wanderlust. What SHOULD I do?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is similar to the answer for music submissions.  We have received over 300 submissions and recommendations for the 30-40 teaching slots available at Wanderlust 2010.  As with music, the amount of high-quality, experienced and talented instructors who want to participate is truly amazing, and it has made our selection process very difficult.  At this time, we have selected our 2010 teacher lineup and have no more available spots.
