Preparing for your Trip
Wanderlust is set at beautiful Squaw Valley USA, which is located in North Lake Tahoe, CA and is part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Part of your day will be spent at or above 8,000 feet, which is probably a bit more altitude than most of you are used to. Some planning and precautions are in order.
WHAT TO BRING
- Sunscreen The atmosphere is thin at 8,000’ and you’ll burn much more quickly. SPF30+ is a must.
- Hat Goes along with the sunscreen, and looks cool as well.
- Water Bottle We’ll be selling water in biodegradable bottles as well as canteens, but you’ll want to take advantage of our refilling stations if you have your own bottle. You’ll find that you need to drink a lot more water than normal at higher altitudes, particularly if you’re exercising.
- Yoga Mat We’ll have some for sale but they’re not provided.
- Fleece/Jacket It’s sunny and in the mid-70s pretty much every day near the end of July, but when the sun goes down it can get quite cool on top of the mountain. You’ll want to have a light jacket just in case.
