Wanderlust Is Here! Thursday Highlights.

As the sun looms over the Sierras and the mist rolls away this morning, a new journey begins. One filled with euphoric classes, exuberant dance parties, captivating lectures, local and organic food & drink, and so much more, high atop a magical place we'll call home for the next four days . . . WANDERLUST.

The weekend is sure to be a peak moment in your lifelong lust for wandering and wondering. And to make sure you will be fully engaged and aware of all things Wanderlust, we'll be sending out daily emails, posting to our Blog and of course on Facebook and Twitter.

Here are some of the day's highlights:

8AM. Classes in session.
The festivities kick off bright and early with teachers Annie Carpenter, Rusty Wells and Demetri Velisarius leading the charge. Seeker and Sage tickets are now sold out, but you can still purchase Pilgrim (one day yoga passes) for Thurs and Sunday here.

10:30AM. Hike the High Sierras.
Schuyler Grant, yoga teacher and co-founder, leads a truly epic hike along a babbling stream, passing through pine forest, up a steep rock face, across a field of wildflowers and maybe even through a patch of snow. The hike ends at High Camp around 2:30pm, at which point  you can dive into the pool or soak your sore body in the oversized hot tub.

11 AM.  Guided kayak tour of the Lake. Yoga on the beach.
Seva At The Lake is a truly unique opportunity presented by Off The Mat Into The World  to explore and give back to mother Earth. Kayak through the beautiful north shore, floating above underwater granite gardens and into one of the deepest bays where the water is more than 1000 feet deep. Our journey will take us to a hidden beach, where we will practice yoga and clean up the beach. If you have registered for the event and have not paid, please bring $25 in cash or you will not be able to join.

1:30 PM. Rafting adventure with Shiva Rea
Our bodies flow as river of prana - that is why we feel so good on the rivers or in the flow of yoga or the joy of music. Join us for a ride with your favorite pranic river guide, Shiva Rea! For those of you who have registered but not paid, please be sure to bring $25 in cash. The bus leaves from the Village at Squaw, Building 5 at 1:30 PM.

Need some bodywork?
Take a moment and visit the Wanderlust Wellness Village where talented healers help to melt your tissues, find relief for that pain that won't seem to go away, or simply find respite in the nectarian surrender offered by healing hands. You can schedule a session with one of a dozen practitioners online here or in person at Wellness Village, nestled between Village Anusara and Kula Village.

8:45pm. Chill out and catch a flick
LUNAFEST, a traveling film festival of award-wining shorts by, for and about women, starts early evening at the Kula Vilage. Come relax, enjoy great food in the village and rest up for the official welcome party.

10 PM. Welcome Party with DJ Dragonfly
To wrap up an epic first day on the mountain, come get your dance on at the Olympic Plaza Bar for the  Wanderlust welcome party featuring DJ Dragonfly!  All yoga ticket holders are welcome!

We''ll leave you with a thought from Elena Brower, by way of The Daily Love. Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow. See you on the cable car!

"The practice of yoga helps you open space within you so you can have a greater awareness of how to love yourself."

Class Scheduling Closed - For Real

This time it's final -- we have closed online class scheduling for 2010.  If you haven't scheduled yet or just bought a ticket, we can help you schedule on site at Wanderlust.  Just visit the Help Desk next to the Box Office in the Kula Village.  Adding classes to your schedule is free -- we want to make sure you get your three classes/day.  If you've already scheduled your three classes and want to make changes to your schedule (by dropping one class and adding another), there will be a fee of $20.

Saturday Yoga Sold Out!

That's all for Saturday, too -- we're sold out!  On the yoga + music side, that leaves us with Thursday Pilgrim and Sunday Pilgrim only.  We still have Daytripper music tickets for all three days.

07.26.10
Class Scheduling Reopened - TEMPORARILY!

We've had a lot of requests for last minute changes to people's schedules, and as a courtesy to our procrastinators & new ticket buyers, we've decided to re-open scheduling until 11:59 pm PST on Tuesday, July 27.  There will not be another extension!!  Please, please schedule your classes now!

07.25.10
Friday Yoga Sold Out!

We're happy to say that we've sold out for yoga on Friday, so we've taken the Sage, Seeker and Friday Pilgrim tickets off sale.  There are still a limited number of Thursday, Saturday and Sunday Pilgrim tickets left, but act fast!

On the music side, we still have Daytripper tickets available for all three days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Yoga Sounds Of Seva, Vol. One" Is Available Now!

Wanderlust's official charity, Off the Mat Into the World, has partnered with our sponsor White Swan Records to create an ecstatic yoga flow music compilation! The LP, which is available now on iTunes, features many Wanderlusters, including MC Yogi, Suzanne Sterling, Donna Delory, Desert Dwellers, Rara Avis, and Shaman's Dream, plus other great artists like Deva Premal, Manose, Alex Theory, Brenda McMorrow & Ben Leinbach. A portion of the proceeds will go to Off The Mat Into The World, supporting their mission to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and ignite grassroots social change through the power of yoga.

"Yoga, music and conscious culture are combining to create a wave of activism that is joyful and sustainable, necessary and powerful, and is indeed making a difference in the world. Join the movement!" - Suzanne Sterling, co-founder, Off The Mat Into The World.

Purchase the compilation here.

Changes to Fire & Ice Dinner

Now Open To All

We didn't realize that so many Daytripper ticket-holders would want to partake in the Fire & Ice festivities at High Camp on Saturday, July 31, so we opened the dinner up to everyone! There's a new signup form that does not require you to schedule the dinner on your yoga class schedule & also lets you make reservations for your whole party at once. Simply fill out the form, select the number of people you're paying for, and enter your credit card info. If you have signed up & paid already, you don't have to do anything. Your name will be on the attendee list when you arrive.

Kids Pricing

A bunch of you emailed asking about taking kids to Fire & Ice. That one was easy -- kid's tickets are now set up in our checkout form. 5 & under are free, and kids 6 - 12 are half off.

A bit less easy is (was) our credit card system -- we apparently had a few problems on Tuesday, which led to some of you getting a "declined" message when you tried to purchase. Don't worry -- your credit is fine. We hope that you'll consider re-registering, because the problem has been fixed.

If you don't know about the Fire & Ice Dinner, check out the menu here. The $49.50 prix fixe includes food, wine, tax and gratuity -- it's the deal of century. The cable car ride is free for Sages, Seekers & Saturday Pilgrims, but everyone else must purchase a $14 cable car ticket. This ticket can be purchased in the cable car building.
