John Shannon

Guitarist, vocalist and songcrafter John Shannon combines ethereal vocals and textured guitar on his soul-searching debut solo album American Mystic. Having played guitar for such artists as Sonya Kitchell, Gary Go, and Haale, Shannon's solo sound is experienced, organic, tender and quietly captivating.

“I believe in the awakening power of song," says Shannon, who explores that musical direction with American Mystic. “To me, mysticism in music is recognizing the mystery of the life journey that we are on, combining it with the awareness of the mystery of sound, and exploring song from there.”

His second release, “Songs of the Desert River” is set for release on label ObliqSound in the fall of 2010.
