Post to our wall
After the festival was over last year, I sat on the airplane flying back to New York partially exhausted, partially exhilarated, and a good bit melancholic. It had been a year of work and in the blink of an eye, it was over. When we first conceived of Wanderlust, we set out to create something new – a novel event that would combine some of the things that we value and love more than anything – music, yoga and nature.
As I sat on the plane in the shadow of our first year, I realized something about the basic pillars of Wanderlust....

The dictionary defines wanderlust as, “a strong desire for or impulse to wander or explore.” I’m one of this globe’s blessed and cursed victims of wanderlust. In three years I’ve lived in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and DC. In a week, I’ll be landing in my new mountain home, Boulder, Colorado. I spend weekends hopping from city to city, yoga studio to yoga studio, and have a passport that...
I’ve been thinking a lot about transition lately. I’ve now been living in Boulder, Colorado a month with a trip to Los Angeles and Arizona thrown in there. Next week I’m in San Francisco. When you’re a wanderluster it sometimes feel like life is in constant transition, ever changing. Somehow, though, I’ve realized how resistant I am to embracing the space between solid ground.
In any moment, we can imagine ourselves swinging on a trapeze bar, rocking back and forth between the past and future as we hang here in the present. To leap to the next bar...
Change happens faster than I realized and I've barely been able to catch my breath after recent [all good] events. What this sudden change has allowed, however, is insight into The Curateur's readers' lives. The realization is this: you have to really WANT to be your best self, in order to set your alarm for 6:00AM instead of 8:00AM just for a daily yoga practice or run around your neighborhood, before heading to work. Realizing this, I've recognized that I may have been bordering on flippant with previous promotion of a mind-body-spirit practice thinking, as many people...
We are switching things up a little this week on Wanderlust Wonders. Check out this fun video of Elena Brower's lifestyle set to the calming music of Todd Boston.

Because I travel so much I almost constantly have a packed carry on bag ready to go. After running around on a trip, I like to take inventory of what I’m carrying with me in my suitcase. My suitcase is more than my bag. Its what I’m carrying with me at any present moment on not only a material level but also a physical and mental level. Here’s what I have in my suitcase this week as I ground back in Boulder:
Movement artist and hooper extraordinaire, Shakti Sunfire, advises "Be you without apology." Catch her at Wanderlust 2010!
What does Wanderlust mean to you?
Wanderlust holds a special space in my heart. Last year I made this festival the first stop on my move out to California from Boulder, Colorado. I parked my car in the garage of the condo FULL off all my belongings, took a deep breath and stepped into the experience with an open heart and a lot of trust. At...
Last week I kept trying to write my update from the world of Alice. Over and over again, I’d type then delete, then type, then delete. I was stuck in one of those slices of life where inspiration and creativity seem to have evaporated into the 90 degree summer sky. So what do you do to get jumpstarted when you’re feeling uninspired and sinking in humidity? Here are a few of tricks from Alice over here:
• Go on a date. Yea, yea I know. They’re intimidating. But this date can be with an old friend, a new friend, a...

In this video MC Yogi leads us on a simple Japa meditation using a mala and repetition of mantra.
